SENTENCE PRACTICE - 2

(that) Subject, then ‘2nd form of verb’ / 'verb word’ /'should + verb word'

In following sentences, (that) implies you may use or leave ‘that’

Examples

It is time (that) you went / go / should go back to your home.  

It is time (that) you were seen / are seen / should be seen together in public.

I think it is time (that) we left / leave / should leave.  

It is time (that) we made / make / should make some proper introduction. 

It is time (that) you stopped / stop / should stop.  

 (each of the above sentences has same meaning irrespective of whether you use 

'2nd form of verb’ or 'verb word' or 'should + verb word' after subject)

(Similarly for following sentences)

 

I hope (that) they too joined / join / should join peace process.

I hope (that) they got engaged / get engaged / should get engaged.

I just hope (that) she did not get / does not get / should not get / not get violent again.

You had better hope (that) you never met / never meet / should never meet me again.
